How’s it going?

Hopefully, you’ve been among the high-numbered stalls, which have dominated at Royal Ascot.

There is still one more day to go, and seven mouth-watering races on ITV’s menu; we’ve covered them all via our Super Trends.

Racing Things To Know 🗞️

👉 Aidan O’Brien and Joseph O’Brien have already recorded 11 winners between them at Royal Ascot.

👉 William Haggas isn’t far behind, with three Royal Ascot winners.

👉 Ascot Gold Cup runner-up Trawlerman used special protection goggles to help shield his sensitive eyes from sunlight.

We want a pair.

The Purist

We tracked The Purist down during what he described as ‘one hell of a week’.

Whether that meant a good week or a bad one, we're not entirely sure... but he seemed to be enjoying his mint Cornetto.

Here’s who The Purist is backing on Saturday…

4.20 Royal Ascot - Catullus

They say first impressions last, and Catullus did just that when hosing up at Goodwood. The 7f handicap he won is traditionally a good pointer for the summer ahead, and while he moves up in class for this assignment, he cruised and quickened like a good one at Goodwood, and looks better than a handicapper.

5.07 Redcar - Coyy

A cosy winner on fast ground at Windsor in May before being drawn away from the main action when third at Goodwood, Coyy showed himself to still be in good form when things didn’t again fall right in wet conditions at Epsom last time. He does get behind early, so hopefully they go a good pace here to set it up for the finishers - if they do, I expect Coyy to be flying home.

6.55 Doncaster - Harswell Angel

I did ooh and aah about advising this as a bet as it could be one where he either finishes last or wins, but at decent double-figure odds (as of Friday evening), it’s worth a go. He became one to follow three outings ago when not given a hard time at Newmarket, prior to being drawn badly at Wetherby, and then a blocked run at York. Hopefully, things fall better here for a yard in good form.

7.30 Doncaster - Walson’s Law

Clifford Lee rode a big-race winner at Royal Ascot on Friday and can use that confidence on Walson’s Law, who caught my attention when third at Ascot last month. Things didn’t go to plan in a troublesome race around Goodwood’s sharp bend next time when not getting a clear run, but he’ll have plenty of space on the wide galloping straight to make amends.

Three To Follow 📝

In this Royal Ascot special, we’ve already picked out a trio of horses from this week that recorded excellent efforts despite being disadvantaged by the draw on the straight course from the lower half of the draw.

Indalo, who you may recall we recommended for the Royal Hunt Cup at 14/1 several weeks ago, found himself up against it when third from the stall.

Indalo is already in our Paddock Report database, so we won’t mention him again in the following trio.

Keep an eye on them.

Sale Shark (2yo)

Impressed in winning on his debut but had no chance from stall 3 when 5th of 25 where the four in front of him came from stalls: 22, 14, 25, 23.

Wise Prince (3yo)

Finished 8th of 30 in the Britannia Stakes from stall 15 - the first seven ahead of him were drawn: 28, 18, 25, 32, 30, 29, 27

Night Raider (5yo)

Improved to win his last two sprints prior to Ascot, where he finished 10th of 26 from stall 6 - those in front of him came from stalls: 24, 15, 19, 11, 23, 22, 26, 16, 17.

Stable Talk 🗣️

We hope you enjoyed last week’s comments, which pointed out a few Ascot winners.

And here are three more, all from man-of-the-moment Joseph O’Brien, who spoke to At The Races about these three Saturday runners…

Andab 4.20

We are looking at running him in the Jersey Stakes. He ran very well in what is likely to work out as a strong race at Sandown last time. He ran great at Ascot last year and a high-temp seven furlongs might just suit him.

Perisher 5.35

We are aiming him at the Golden Gates Handicap. He’s been very good in his last two starts and the form looks solid. He’d be helped by a good draw, but he looks progressive and is open to more improvement.

A Piece Of Heaven 6.10

He has been in great order since his win in the Chester Cup and we’ve been aiming him at the Queen Alexandra since then. We showed that an extreme stamina test suits him at Chester and he enjoys fast ground. He’s low mileage for a horse of his age and he might well be able to come forward again.

We Almost Forgot…

📌 We’ve got some exciting plans for Paddock Report this summer, which should help point you even closer towards some winners.

Keep checking in each week to find out.
