How’s it going?

Building up the sleep tank ahead of England’s big one on Sunday night?

Just don’t go to sleep while Sandown and Newmarket are on TV this Saturday afternoon.

Racing Things To Know 🗞️

👉 Sandown’s Coral-Eclipse (3.35) is the first occasion in the Flat season when the Classic generation (3yos) take on their elders.

👉 Haydock don’t race again until August while ‘the hole’ is being fixed, and their rescheduled Lancashire Oaks and Old Newton Cup both take place at Newmarket on Saturday.

👉 The big three-day Newmarket July Festival also gets underway on Thursday in front of the ITV cameras.

👉 Royal Ascot’s Wokingham winner Double Rush could go up in class for next Saturday’s July Cup at Newmarket.

👉 Constitution Hill could go for next month’s Ebor Handicap at York.

Cheat Sheet: Sandown 🔮

As we continue to improve the Paddock Report newsletter, we’ll be providing a cheat sheet covering Saturday’s main meeting.

Included will be hot racing info ‘touched for the very first time’.

Okay, we can’t give you Madonna, but we hope you enjoy the sheet. Look closely, as there are a lot of hidden gems in there.

See what you think.

Super Trends 🦸

Featuring the latest big-race roll of honour alongside ten-year trends analysis, our ‘Super Trends’ reveal the key stats for all the big races.

Use these trends to find your own selections, or if you’re short of time and can’t access a formbook, check our short-list of three selections below each race.

We’ve left the Coral-Eclipse out as it could be business as usual for Aidan O’Brien, especially as favourites have a good record - there you go, that’s the advice!

The Purist

We’re not sure if the World Cup has been keeping The Purist up, but he’s back to try and get back among the winners.

Here’s who The Purist is backing on Saturday…

2.05 Newmarket - Mythical Bay

Mythical Bay is now 2 wins from four races in 2026, and recorded a career best when winning with ease at Newbury last month. That race has a decent history, and if he handles the quicker ground here then the 7lb rise may not prevent a follow-up.

2.25 Sandown - Indalo and Classic

Regular readers won’t need an introduction to Indalo, who the team advised at 14/1 antepost for the Royal Hunt Cup when a cracking third from a bad draw. He’s only been upped a pound for that and should go close if getting the breaks from behind.

Classic won this race 12 months ago and has improved since, also running well at Royal Ascot without much luck last time. With a clear run this time, he can also be involved at the finish at double-figure odds.

Split your stakes.

4.10 Sandown - Spirit Of Saxony

Spirit Of Saxony was unlucky over course and distance last month when caught in a pocket before flying home and can gain compensation. The form of that race looks strong with the fifth winning at Epsom next time, while the sixth was runner-up.

Two To Follow 📝

A couple of talented juveniles.

Al Hudaiba (2yo)

An impressive winner at Newmarket with a good history for providing classy individuals.

Quillan (2yo)

Won a Redcar race in an above-par time and looks classy.

We Almost Forgot…

📌 July is a fantastic month for Flat racing, and if you’ve booked your holidays for the end of July, then good timing, as Glorious Goodwood and the Galway Festival both take place during the same week.
